SL becomes signatory to the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment

As part of its ongoing initiative to foster and develop responsible investment practices, SL investment Management ("SL") has announced its decision to become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

The PRI is recognised as the leading global network for investors, asset managers and service providers who are committed to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their investment and decision making processes.

In order to move towards alignment with the PRI guidelines, SL has committed to undertake a series of reviews over the coming months. This includes the development of an internal code of practice to outline SL's general approach to ESG issues, and how this relates to individuals and our investment practices. This will culminate in 2021 with SL's first submission to the PRI to satisfy annual reporting requirements.

Managing Director, Robert Ireland said: "We have been a leading voice in the Life Settlement space since 2002. Becoming a signatory to the PRI builds upon our commitment to encourage responsible investment practices within the Life Settlement industry - a mission we've been driving forward with since becoming a founding member of the European Life Settlement Association ("ELSA") in 2009, where focus is on the promotion of transparency and standards within the Life Settlement market.

"Becoming a signatory of the PRI reinforces our commitment and we are excited about integrating the philosophy of ESG investment into our organisation."

"We are delighted to welcome SL Investment Management as a PRI signatory"said Fiona Reynolds, CEO of PRI."We applaud their focus on the promotion of transparency and standards in the Life Settlement space, and look forward to working with the team on their commitment to ESG investment."
