ELSA SLM Conference Sept 2019

Patrick McAdams, Investment Director at SL Investment Management, will present at the forthcoming ELSA Secondary Life Markets Conference - to be held at EY's offices in Canary Wharf, London on Friday 20th September 2019.

This annual gathering of life market professionals comes at a pivotal point in the capital markets. Holders of longevity/mortality risk, capital market participants and policy makers are coming together to debate positive solutions to the demographic challenges of an ageing population and the benefits that secondary markets can provide.

Patrick, a previous Chair of ELSA, will be presenting in an afternoon panel session - "Meeting investor needs through structuring" - which is to be moderated by Ailish Finnerty, a Partner at Arthur Cox in Dublin.

Patrick said, "I'm delighted to have been invited to participate at this year's ELSA event. I'm very much looking forward to joining the panel discussion and providing my views on how to best protect investor interests through use of prudent structuring.

"There are many different open-ended life settlement structures out there at present, and it's essential that investors are versed on what attributes to focus on when comparing one product with another".

The European Life Settlement Association (ELSA) was founded in 2009 to set standards for the European life settlement industry. ELSA represents investors, service providers and intermediaries in the longevity and mortality markets who are looking to promote best practice by providing accurate, authoritative information to institutional investors, regulatory bodies and the media.

ELSA's focus is on the promotion of transparency and the positive development of the life industry's reputation amongst all stakeholders.

SL is both a founding and current member of ELSA, working to encourage fair competition and investor protection within the life settlement market.
